TELEHERAPY
Therapy sessions conducted virtually over a secure, HIPPA compliant online platform
The American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) defines telepractice ( the act of providing Telehealth services) as "the application of telecommunications technology to delivery of professional services at a distance by linking clinician to client, or clinician to clinician, for assessment, intervention, and/or consultation." Speech therapy services are provided through digital therapy therapy sessions. The SLP and patient meet via an online session at a designated therapy time to work on the same therapeutic goals as in the clinic. This is known as “teletherapy.” This service delivery model is supported through the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology (LBESPA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and is payable by most insurance carriers. This mode of service delivery, when implemented correctly, is noted to have equal outcomes to face-to-face interventions.
Ideal for when you are unable to attend your session in person due to sickness, scheduling conflicts, vacations, etc.
